Nestled on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain at Grangehurst are a few cosy cottages that offer
an ideal base for visitors wanting to enjoy the beauty and attractions of the Cape Winelands, the False
Bay coastline and surrounding mountains.
The historic town of Stellenbosch, the bustling Somerset Mall and the village of Somerset West are all
approximately 10 minutes away. The outstanding sandy beaches of The Strand and the quaint fishing and
sailing port of Gordons Bay are within 15 to 25 minutes drive of Grangehurst.
At this stage, we have two cottages available for self-catering guest accommodation.
The smaller cottage has an open plan kitchen-living area and a bedroom with optional twin beds or a double
bed. The living area leads onto a large veranda, where guests can sip their sundowners gazing across miles
of vineyards, hills and majestic mountains. The kitchen-dining area is well equipped with all necessary
equipment. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and separate bath. The kitchen, living area, bedroom and
bathroom all have undertile heating to ensure comfort during the winter months.
The larger cottage comprises a fully equipped kitchen, large open plan living-dining area with a fireplace,
two double bedrooms, a bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate bath as well as another toilet-shower
room. The kitchen and the bathroom have undertile heating. For outdoor entertainment, there is a choice of
an undercover verandah and a small, leafy garden area or an open verandah with amazing views across vineyards
and False Bay to Cape Point, Simon's Town, Constantia, Table Mountain, Cape Town and even further.
Both cottages have satelite TV and a large swimming pool is available to keep you cool during the warm,
summer days.
Grange Cottages are very conveniently situated for guests to experience the interesting wineries and
restaurants of the area. For guests wanting sporting activities, there are excellent golf courses within
a 10 kilometre radius, exhilarating swimming or surfing at some of the Capes best beaches and hiking on
our lovely mountains and through the nearby nature reserves. After a busy day, guests can relax in the
tranquil environment of the cottages and discuss the wonderful variety of local wines with resident winemaker
Jeremy Walker, who together with his wife Mandy and their young daughters - Hayley and Tarryn - will give
you a warm, friendly welcome. They will also be available to give you advice on local attractions so that you
will be able to enjoy your holiday to the full. Many of our guests arrive as strangers and leave as
friends and return year after year for a few weeks or more. See below for a selection of comments from the
visitors' book:

Thanks to a recommendation we found your beautiful place and spent relaxing days in the very nice cottage. We
hope to have a chance to come back to repeat this exercise in the lovely surroundings of the winelands. Thanks
also for your kind hospitality and the tasting of your excellent wines!

On a lucky occasion weve stumbled over your place in the Stellenbsoch information guide. You have given us a
warm welcome and we really enjoyed the time, wine & being at your wonderfully kept place. It was very relaxing
sitting in the sun and sipping on a delicious wine of yours. Thank you for your hospitality. When we come back
to South Africa we surely will visit you again.
Cher & John Garsfontein

It is difficult to put into words how much we enjoy staying here for many reasons it is quite wonderful, but
Jeremy and Mandy are at the heart of this magical place & we find it quite blissful. We hope to be back very soon.
Linda & Jeff Binns England
We were the second couple to visit the cottage & have been coming ever since so think that says it all. We
always have a brilliant time but always so sad to go home.
